Cookie and Similar Technologies Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Global Law Company (“Digital Lawyer Diary”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on www.digitallawyerdiary.com and our associated web applications (the “Platform”). We are the controller responsible for the use of these technologies. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. Pixels, tags, SDKs, and local storage are related technologies that can perform similar functions. We refer to all of these collectively as “cookies” in this notice.

2. Why do we use them?

We rely on cookies for three main purposes:

  • Strictly necessary: to secure the Platform, keep you logged in, and remember your language and accessibility preferences.
  • Performance and analytics: to understand how the Platform is used so we can improve reliability and plan new features. These cookies are optional and only load after you consent.
  • Consent management: to remember the privacy choices you make, which ensures we honour your decision on subsequent visits.

3. Cookies and storage we set

Strictly necessary

These cookies or storage items are essential to deliver core functionality, such as authenticating your account. Because they are required for the Platform to function, they are always enabled when you use our services.

Analytics (requires your consent)

We only activate the following analytics tools after you provide consent through the cookie banner or the “Manage cookie settings” link in the site footer. Declining analytics will not affect access to core functionality.

When analytics is enabled we send pseudonymous usage data to Google Firebase Analytics (United States). We rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses to safeguard those transfers. You can learn more about Google's safeguards at business.safety.google.

4. How we collect and manage consent

The cookie banner appears the first time you visit the Platform and whenever we materially change this notice. It lets you accept all analytics cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or review individual preferences. We store your choice in the dlb-consent local storage item for 12 months, after which we will ask you again.

You can change your decision at any time by selecting “Manage cookie settings” in the footer or by emailing [email protected]. When you withdraw consent we immediately disable Google Firebase Analytics and unload the Cloudflare Web Analytics script.

5. Browser controls

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies using their settings. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies through your browser may stop the Platform from working as expected. Guidance is available for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.

6. Updates to this policy

We will review this notice at least annually and whenever we introduce a new cookie or analytics tool. The revised version will be posted on this page and the “Last updated” date will change accordingly. If the change is significant, we will request your consent again through the banner.
