District court cause lists in Pakistan: how to check them online

District and Sessions Courts are where most litigation in Pakistan begins and ends, and their cause lists are the hardest to track. There is no national list. Each province runs its own portal, and within a district each court publishes its own list: the District and Sessions Judge, each Additional Sessions Judge, each Civil Judge, the Family Court and each Magistrate.
This page collects the official portals for Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Islamabad Capital Territory, explains what each lets you filter, and shows how to read a row. It does not reproduce any list; the portals are the record.

Which lists the District Courts publishes
Daily cause list per court
The list of cases fixed before one court for one day. On every portal you pick the district (or sessions division) and then the court, for example District & Sessions Judge or Senior Civil Judge. There is no combined list for a district; you go court by court.
Advocate-wise and police-station-wise lists
Some portals arrange the day's cases by advocate on record or by police station. The Sindh portal offers Advocate Wise Causelist and PS Wise Causelist; the Punjab portal's Search Case section has a Select Police Station field. Where these exist they are the quickest way to see your matters across courts.
Lists after transfer
When a case is transferred to another court, whether on a change of roster, an administrative order or a transfer application, it appears under the new court's list and nowhere else. If a case disappears from the list you expect, check the other courts in the district.
When the lists are published
District court lists are usually published the working day before and can be revised. Portals differ in how far ahead they show: the Balochistan portal keeps the current day and the three days before it. Re-check the evening before, and again in the morning if you have a fresh application.
Where a portal is down, the court reader's register at the courtroom is the fallback. Treat any list from a third party as a copy of uncertain age.
Where to find the official list
Punjab. The portal is dsj.punjab.gov.pk. Its Cause List section has dropdowns for Select District Name, covering every district of Punjab, and Select Court Name. A separate Search Case section finds a case, including by Select Police Station. Every search requires you to answer a simple arithmetic question first. No advocate-name search was visible on the front page when this guide was written.
Sindh. The portal is cases.districtcourtssindh.gos.pk/causelist. It shows a DAILY LIST with a district dropdown (Karachi (South), Karachi (West), Karachi (East) and other districts) and a court dropdown (District & Sessions Judge, Senior Civil Judge and others). The navigation also offers Search, Advocate Wise Causelist, PS Wise Causelist, the Commercial Litigation Corridor (CLC) and Cause List Print.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. District courts use the Peshawar High Court's CFMIS portal (Case Flow Management Information System) at cfmisdcportal.peshawarhighcourt.gov.pk/public/cause-list. It loads as a web application and its filters were not checked for this guide, so follow the options on screen.
Balochistan. The District Judiciary section of bhc.gov.pk/resources/cause-lists has a sessions division dropdown with more than thirty entries, including Quetta, Khuzdar, Loralai, Sibi and Turbat, a court field (Please select a court), date options Current, Yesterdays', 2 days ago and 3 days ago, and a Fetch Cause List button.
Islamabad Capital Territory. District court lists are on the Islamabad High Court's MIS page at mis.ihc.gov.pk/frmCausLst, whose court selector includes District Court (East) and District Court (West).
How to search by advocate name or case number
- Open the portal for your province from the list above. For Punjab that is dsj.punjab.gov.pk.
- Choose the district or sessions division: Select District Name in Punjab, the district dropdown on Sindh's DAILY LIST, or the sessions division dropdown in Balochistan.
- Choose the court: Select Court Name in Punjab, the court dropdown in Sindh, Please select a court in Balochistan, or District Court (East) or District Court (West) on the Islamabad page. Repeat for each court you appear before.
- Pick the date where the portal asks for one. Balochistan offers Current, Yesterdays', 2 days ago and 3 days ago, then Fetch Cause List. On Punjab's portal, answer the arithmetic question first. In Sindh, Advocate Wise Causelist shows all your matters at once.
- Note the serial number, court and stage for each case in your diary. If a case is missing, check the other courts in the district before concluding it is not fixed.
How to read a row
| Column | What it means |

| Serial number | The order in which the court will call cases. Low numbers are reached early; high numbers may be adjourned unheard. |
| Case number and year | The court's registration number with its type: civil suit, sessions case, family suit or appeal. Use it, not the party names, to confirm it is your case. |
| Parties | Plaintiff or complainant versus defendant or accused. In criminal cases the State is usually the complainant, with the police station or FIR number alongside. |
| Court | The judge before whom the case is fixed. Read it every day, because a case can move to another court after transfer or a change of roster. |
| Advocates | Counsel on record where the portal shows it. If your name is missing, your vakalatnama may not have been entered, and an advocate-wise list will not show the case. |
| Stage or purpose | Why the case is listed: evidence, arguments, framing of issues, appearance of the accused, or a specific application. |
Common mistakes
- Checking only one court in the district. A case moved on transfer appears under the new court and nowhere else.
- Assuming a case missing from the list is not fixed. The list for that court may not be uploaded yet; check again later.
- Relying on an advocate-wise list when your vakalatnama has not been entered. The case is fixed, but not under your name.
- Using the wrong portal. Islamabad district courts are on the Islamabad High Court's MIS page, not the Punjab portal.
- Checking days in advance and not again the evening before. District lists are revised.

Is there a single cause list for all district courts in Pakistan?
No. Each province runs its own portal, and within a district each court publishes its own list. Punjab uses dsj.punjab.gov.pk, Sindh has cases.districtcourtssindh.gos.pk, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa uses the CFMIS portal, Balochistan's lists are on bhc.gov.pk, and Islamabad's are on the Islamabad High Court MIS page.
Can I search district court cause lists by advocate name?
It depends on the province. The Sindh portal has an Advocate Wise Causelist. The Punjab portal's front page showed no advocate-name search when this guide was written; you search by district and court, or by case under Search Case. The CFMIS portal's filters were not verified.
Why has my case disappeared from the cause list?
Usually because it has been transferred to another court in the same district, on a transfer application, an administrative order or a change of roster. It will appear under the new court's list. Check the other courts before concluding it is not fixed.
