Sindh High Court cause list: how to check it online
Updated . This guide explains how to use the court's own list; it does not reproduce the list.
The Sindh High Court publishes its cause lists on its own website, seat by seat: the Principal Seat at Karachi, the benches at Sukkur and Mirpurkhas, and the circuit courts at Hyderabad and Larkana. The page is a set of links rather than one filtered list, so knowing which link to open matters as much as when to look.
This page explains which lists the court publishes, when they are usually issued, how to use the advocate-wise lists and case search, and where advocates go wrong.

Which lists the SHC publishes
Daily cause list for each seat
The main list of cases fixed before each bench on a working day, published separately for the Principal Seat Karachi, the Bench at Sukkur, the Circuit Court Hyderabad, the Circuit Court Larkana and the Bench at Mirpurkhas.
Supplementary and urgent matters
Cases added after the main list was drawn up, and fresh petitions or applications fixed at short notice, are issued in addition to the daily list and are the matters most often missed. Read each list's heading to see which it is.
Advocate-wise cause lists
Lists arranged by counsel rather than by court: Advocate Wise Cause List - Principal Seat Karachi, Advocate Wise Cause List - Bench at Sukkur, Advocate Wise Cause List - Circuit Court Hyderabad and Advocate Wise Cause List - Circuit Court Larkana. None is shown for Mirpurkhas.
Case search
Each seat has its own: Case Search (Principal Seat), Case Search (Bench@Sukkur), Case Search (Circuit Court Hyderabad), Case Search (Circuit Court Larkana) and Case Search (Bench@MirpurKhas). Use it to confirm the status and next date of one case.
When the lists are published
The SHC page does not print a publication time. Lists for a hearing date are usually published the working day before and can be revised, so re-check before court.
Supplementary and urgent matters are issued as cases are fixed, after the main list. If you have a fresh petition or an application for early hearing, look again in the morning.
Each seat publishes on its own timetable, so if you appear at Karachi and a circuit court in the same week, check both.
Where to find the official list
The official lists are on the court's website: SHC cause lists (sindhhighcourt.gov.pk), which links to the daily list, advocate-wise list and case search for each seat; there is no single filter across seats.
The court's notice on the page reads: Advocates and litigants are advised to use Sindh High Court Mobile App (New Version) from play store (Android), Advance Case search, Advocate-Wise Search and Cause List for case information. The app is the court's own; a forwarded screenshot is not.
The district and sessions courts of Sindh are not on this page. Their lists are on a separate portal, cases.districtcourtssindh.gos.pk; our district courts page explains it.
How to search by advocate name or case number
- Open the SHC cause list page and find the section for your seat, for example Principal Seat Karachi or Circuit Court Hyderabad.
- To see all your cases at one seat, open its advocate-wise link, for example Advocate Wise Cause List - Principal Seat Karachi, and find your name.
- To check one case, open the seat's case search, for example Case Search (Bench@Sukkur), and enter the case number.
- At Mirpurkhas, use Case Search (Bench@MirpurKhas) for single cases and read the daily list for the rest; there is no advocate-wise list for that seat.
- Read the seat's daily list too, so a supplementary or urgent matter or a connected case is not missed.
- Note the bench, item number, stage and date in your diary, and re-check the evening before.
How to read a row
| Column | What it means |

| Item number | The order in which the bench will call cases; high numbers may not be reached. |
| Case number and year | The registration number with its year and type. Use it, not the party names, to confirm the case is yours. |
| Parties | Petitioner, appellant or applicant versus respondent. Connected matters are often listed under the lead case. |
| Advocates | Counsel on record. If your name is missing, the vakalatnama may not have been entered. |
| Bench | The judge or judges before whom the case is fixed. Read it daily, because rosters change. |
| Stage or purpose | Why the case is listed: preliminary hearing (katcha peshi), arguments, compliance or an application. |
Common mistakes
- Opening the list for the wrong seat. A Hyderabad circuit matter is not on the Karachi list.
- Relying on the advocate-wise list alone. It shows only cases in which your name has been entered, and there is none for Mirpurkhas.
- Reading the main list and missing supplementary or urgent matters for the same date.
- Confusing the case search, which shows one case's status, with the cause list, which shows what is fixed for the day.
- Checking once, early in the week, and not again the evening before.

Can I search the SHC cause list by advocate name?
Yes. The page links to an advocate-wise cause list for the Principal Seat Karachi, the Bench at Sukkur, the Circuit Court Hyderabad and the Circuit Court Larkana. There is none for the Bench at Mirpurkhas, so use that seat's daily list and Case Search (Bench@MirpurKhas).
Does the SHC page cover the district courts in Sindh?
No. The district and sessions courts of Sindh publish their cause lists on a separate portal, cases.districtcourtssindh.gos.pk, and the Sindh High Court page covers only the High Court's own seats. Our district courts page explains how that portal works and how it differs.
