Peshawar High Court cause list: how to check it online
Updated . This guide explains how to use the court's own list; it does not reproduce the list.
The Peshawar High Court hears cases from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and its cause list tells an advocate whether a matter is fixed for tomorrow, before which bench and at what serial number. The court publishes its lists under the heading Current Causelist on its own website, one PDF per bench per hearing date. There is no filterable table: you download the file for your bench and search inside it.
This page explains which lists the court publishes, when they appear, where to find them and how to search a PDF for your cases, at the Principal Seat at Peshawar (labelled PHC on the website) and the Abbottabad, Mingora (Swat), D.I. Khan and Bannu benches.

Which lists the PHC publishes
Regular cause list
The main list for each working day. For each hearing date the website shows files labelled PHC (the Principal Seat at Peshawar), Abbottabad, D.I.Khan, Mingora and Bannu. Each file covers every bench sitting at that seat on that date.
Urgent and supplementary lists
Matters fixed at short notice, fresh petitions and cases added after the main list was prepared are circulated as urgent or supplementary lists, which appear as a further file for the same bench and date. They are the lists most often missed, because they come out after the file you have already read.

The page also has a Search for Causelist link, which the court describes as a search by date and bench. Use it to find a list that has dropped off the current page.
When the lists are published
The page shows files for the next hearing dates; when checked it listed a Monday and the following Tuesday, each with a file for all five benches. Lists are usually published the working day before the hearing and can be revised, so treat a file downloaded in the afternoon as provisional until you have re-checked the portal in the evening.
The court does not print a publication time, and nothing marks a replaced file. If you have a fresh petition or an urgent matter, look again first thing in the morning.
Where to find the official list
The official lists are on the court's website: PHC current cause lists (peshawarhighcourt.gov.pk). The page is headed Current Causelist and shows a row of PDF links for each hearing date, one per bench. There is no separate website for the Abbottabad, Mingora, D.I. Khan or Bannu benches.
District courts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa publish through a different system, the CFMIS portal at cfmisdcportal.peshawarhighcourt.gov.pk, which loads as a web application rather than a page of PDFs. See our district courts cause list page for those lists.
How to search by advocate name or case number
- Open the Current Causelist page and find the row for the hearing date you need.
- Download the PDF for your bench: PHC for the Principal Seat at Peshawar, or Abbottabad, D.I.Khan, Mingora or Bannu.
- Open the file and use find (Ctrl+F, or the search icon in your phone's PDF viewer). Search by case number first, then by your name and any spelling variant.
- Repeat for every bench where you have a case. A search in the Peshawar file will not find an Abbottabad matter.
- Return to the page and check for an urgent or supplementary file for the same date and bench. Search it separately.
- Note the serial number, bench and judge for each matter in your diary, and keep the PDF with the case file.
How to read a row
| Column | What it means |

| Serial number | The order in which the bench will call cases. Low numbers are usually reached early; high numbers may not be reached at all. |
| Case number and year | The court's registration number with its year. Use this, not the party names, to confirm it is your case. |
| Parties | Petitioner or appellant versus respondent. Connected cases are usually listed together under the lead case. |
| Advocates | Counsel on record for each side. If your name is missing, your vakalatnama may not have been entered. |
| Bench / judge | The judge or judges hearing the case. Read it every day, because rosters change. |
| Stage or purpose | Why the case is listed: arguments, preliminary hearing, compliance, or a specific application. |
Common mistakes
- Searching one bench's PDF and assuming it covers the whole court; each bench has its own file.
- Searching by name alone. Spellings differ between filings, so search by case number as well.
- Reading the list once and not again later; a revised or supplementary file may be added after you last looked.
- Relying on a forwarded PDF, which may be an earlier version and carries no sign that it has been replaced.
- Looking for a district court matter on the High Court page. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district courts publish through the separate CFMIS portal.
