Balochistan High Court cause list: how to check it online
Updated . This guide explains how to use the court's own list; it does not reproduce the list.
The Balochistan High Court sits at Quetta and at four other benches, and its cause list tells an advocate whether a matter is fixed, before which bench and at what serial number. The court publishes its lists on bhc.gov.pk as PDF files, one per bench per date. There is no filterable table: you download the file for your bench and search inside it.

Which lists the BHC publishes
Principal Seat lists
At Quetta the lists are split by bench: a Company Bench, Division Benches 1 to 7 and Single Benches, each a separate PDF for each date. A Division Bench matter is not in the Single Bench file.
Bench lists
The Sibi, Turbat, Loralai and Khuzdar benches each have their own section, with one PDF per date labelled with the bench name and date.
Tribunal lists
The page also carries lists for the Services Tribunal, Customs Tribunal and Election Tribunal, which are not in the High Court bench files.
Urgent and supplementary lists
Matters fixed at short notice and cases added after the main list was prepared go on urgent or supplementary lists, published as a further file for the same bench and date. They are the lists most often missed, because they come out after the file you have already read.
When the lists are published
The page shows current and previous lists in date order. Lists are usually published the working day before the hearing and can be revised, so treat a file downloaded in the afternoon as provisional until you have re-checked the page in the evening.
The court does not print a publication time. If you have a fresh petition or an urgent matter, look again first thing in the morning.
Where to find the official list
The official lists are on the court's website: BHC cause lists (bhc.gov.pk). The page runs section by section: Principal Seat Quetta, the four benches, the three tribunals, then District Judiciary. Every list is a PDF download labelled with the bench name and date.
The District Judiciary section is a form, not a list of files. Choose a sessions division from the dropdown (Quetta, Khuzdar, Loralai, Sibi, Turbat and others), pick a court, choose Current, Yesterdays', 2 days ago or 3 days ago, and press Fetch Cause List. How to search by advocate name or case number
- Open the cause lists page and go to the section for your seat or bench.
- At Quetta, pick the right bench file: Company Bench, one of Division Benches 1 to 7, or Single Benches. Your last order sheet tells you which.
- Download the PDF for the date and use find (Ctrl+F, or the search icon in your phone's PDF viewer). Search by case number first, then by your name and any spelling variant.
- Repeat for every bench where you have a case. A search in one file does not cover the others.
- If you appear before a tribunal, open its section and search that file too.
- Check again later for a revised or supplementary file, and note the serial number, bench and judge for each matter in your diary.
How to read a row
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Serial number | The order in which the bench will call cases. Low numbers are usually reached early; high numbers may not be reached at all. |
| Case number and year | The court's registration number with its year. Use this, not the party names, to confirm it is your case. |
| Parties | Petitioner or appellant versus respondent. Connected cases are usually listed together under the lead case. |
| Advocates | Counsel on record for each side. If your name is missing, your vakalatnama may not have been entered. |
| Bench / judge | The judge or judges hearing the case, and at Quetta which bench file to open next time. |
| Stage or purpose | Why the case is listed: arguments, preliminary hearing, compliance, or a specific application. |
Common mistakes
- Opening the Single Bench file at Quetta when your case is before a Division Bench. Each bench has its own PDF.
- Searching by name alone. Spellings differ between filings, so search by case number as well.
- Missing the tribunal sections. Services, Customs and Election Tribunal matters are not in the High Court bench files.
- Reading the list once and not again later; a revised or supplementary file may be added after you last looked.
- Relying on a forwarded PDF, which may be an earlier version and carries no sign that it has been replaced.

When is the Balochistan High Court cause list published?

Can I search the BHC cause list by advocate name?
Not on the website itself. The court publishes each list as a PDF rather than a searchable table, so you download the file for your bench and use the find function in your PDF viewer to search by case number or by your name.
Are the Sibi, Turbat, Loralai and Khuzdar bench lists on the same page?
Yes. The cause lists page on bhc.gov.pk has a section for the Principal Seat at Quetta and one for each of the four benches, with the tribunals and District Judiciary below. You do not need a separate website, but you do need to open each bench's file.
